Utility Man

I have become all things to all men so that I may by all means save some.” I Cor. 9:22

Utility Man Ministry is committed to mobilizing men of all races and denominations...

If you've ever driven through your community and said to yourself, "I wish somebody would do something about that?" Well, that's the purpose of Utility Men. I would ask that you also pray for a very special weekend service in Searcy. I'll be at Immanuel Fellowship in Searcy for a church-wide service on Saturday and a celebration service on Sunday morning. There is a lot of healing that needs to be done as well as some vision casting. I pray that God would be honored and glorified not just this weekend but in the days to come. I know that I'm not worthy to stand before these folks but I've been made worthy through Christ and pray that his message will be delivered and received with clarity.

Hope 4 Hannah Dedication

Well, it took a while but the final nails were driven, the appliances purchased and hooked up and, thank our good God in Heaven, the air conditioner was turned on! Now Hannah Garner and her family are finally living in a brand new home thanks to you!

More than 50 volunteers, friends and neighbors came out on a misty Saturday morning to welcome the Garners into their new home and enjoy some of the good food! I’m not sure they’ll ever have this many people over at one time again but at least now they know they can!

This day wouldn’t have been possible without the help of a lot of people but none more so than project coordinator Barry Schnaitman. A list of businesses who donated time and
materials is also posted at hope4hannah.com. Please thank them by giving them a call for any future needs you may have.

Rusty & Didi Garner (with Hannah sitting on the front porch) prepare to welcome volunteers & friends into their new home.

A large crowd was on hand for the dedication.

The Garner’s pastor, Nate Persons, delivers the message before the prayer of dedication.

The Norwood Project

Last summer Gary Norwood's brother, who lived in West Virginia, passed away. He had four kids that needed a home, so his orphaned children came to live with Gary and his wife in Pettus, AR just outside of Lonoke. Gary and his wife, Donna, live in a small 600-square-foot house out in the country. Fine for them... but not for their brand new large family. So Gary decided to build a new house.

Since the Fall, Gary, who works the 3rd shift at Prospect Steel, would come home from work, get a few hours sleep, then start laying the foundation for the new house all by himself. With little help Gary had the foundation built, sub floor put in, the walls erected and was enlisting help to put on the roof when those severe storms of January 8th moved through Arkansas and knocked it all down.

Gary and his wife do not have their hands out. They are both employed, she at the Prothro Medical Clinic, and they have very big hearts. Their mail carrier actually brought this story to our attention as she's watched the house go up piece by piece...she was heartbroken!

A crowd of around 50 people were on hand despite the light rainand drizzle to help dedicateto the Lord Gary & Donna Norwood's new house.

We helped warm the house with:

Flowers so it may always know beauty.
Bread that it may never know hunger.
Salt that it may always have flavor.
A Candle that it may never know darkness &
Wine that joy and prosperity may reign forever!

It took less than two months, thanks to the leadership of Jim Childress, to bring the house from a storm ravaged foundation to completion. There are too many people to thank so I'll refer you to our donors list.  If you ever need ANYTHING done on your house please call these people first.  They gave very liberally of their time, talents and treasure to make this dream a reality.

Here is the devotion I gave that helps tell the story of the project and maybe it will inspire you to tackle a project of your own!
